Benny’s journey in rock began in the heart of Los Angeles inspiring him to chase his musical dreams.

Benny played with Dead Tree in LA, who released their first EP on Theologian Records. Also, he had a band called “Useless” sharing stages with the likes of The Mentors, Poop (featuring Rikk Agnew), Mike Watt (Minutemen, Firehose), and many more.

In 2008, Benny moved to Petaluma, where fate brought him together with Spot, Joe, and Greg, forming the unstoppable force Recycle or Die. Benny’s guitar playing is anything but conventional—his unique style is a melting pot of sounds, drawing from “too many influences to list,” blending raw punk energy with the depth and artistry of guitar greats across genres.

From the moment his fingers hit the strings, you’ll hear a sound that’s been shaped by a life immersed in music—edgy, unrelenting, and undeniably his own.

Jason “Spot” Spotwood

Spot is a true Sonoma County native, having spent his entire life surrounded by the vibrant music scene that has shaped his sound. As a founding member of Recycle or Die, he brings a deep groove and solid rhythm to the band, anchoring their sound with a powerful and versatile style. His basslines, influenced by the rich musical diversity of his hometown, provide the backbone for the band’s dynamic mix of guitar-driven rock. With a passion for crafting catchy melodies and a commitment to the raw energy of live performance, Spot embodies the spirit of Recycle or Die—bold, unyielding, and grounded in the love of music.

Joe Devlin
Drums & Vocals

Born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, Joe is the band’s backbone, driving the sound with his powerful and precise drumming. Joe’s style is a perfect blend of raw energy and technical skill, creating the pulse that keeps the band’s sound alive and electric. With deep roots in the local music scene, Joe’s drumming is as much about passion as it is precision, delivering beats that are both relentless and captivating. From the studio to the stage, his performance sets the tone, bringing intensity and groove to every song.

Joe’s drumming is deeply inspired by his musical heroes’ diverse and groundbreaking styles. From Frank Zappa, he learned to embrace complex, off-kilter rhythms and an experimental approach to composition. King Crimson introduced him to the power of progressive rock, instilling an appreciation for intricate time signatures and dynamic shifts. Meanwhile, Mitch Mitchell’s (Jimi Hendrix) jazz-infused, improvisational style shaped Joe’s ability to infuse rock drumming with a fluid, expressive quality. Together, these influences drive Joe to push the boundaries of traditional rock, adding a unique edge to every beat he plays.

Greg Reynolds
Lead Guitar.

Greg Reynolds brings a masterful touch to the lead guitar, blending technical prowess with soul-stirring melodies. A graduate of the University of Washington, Greg honed his craft while drawing inspiration from some of rock’s most iconic guitarists—Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Neal Schon, and Eddie Van Halen.

Now based in San Francisco, Greg’s playing is the driving force behind the band’s dynamic sound, seamlessly weaving intricate solos with powerful riffs that capture the heart and soul of guitar-driven rock.

Whether channeling the soaring grandeur of Page, the psychedelic flair of Hendrix, or the electrifying speed of Van Halen, Greg brings a fresh energy to the stage, pushing boundaries and redefining what it means to be a modern rock guitarist. The band refers to Greg as the “Tonemaster.”
